The Lord's prayer
주기도문

Our father in heaven,
하늘에 계신 우리아버지여,

hallowed be your name,
이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으옵시며
- 1단계 : May your name be hallowed. (기원문, May + 주어 + 동사원형, 당신의 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받기를)
- 2단계 : Your name be hallowed. (기원문의 May 생략)
- 3단계 : Hallowed be your name. (기원문의 주어/동사 도치, 강조)
- ex) Long live the king.
- 3인칭 단수 주어에 동사원형이 오면 기원문의 May 생략

your kingdom come,
나라에 임하옵시며,
- 1단계 : May your kingdom com.(기원문)
- 2단계 : Your kingdom come.

your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
뜻이 땅에서도 이루어지이다, 하늘에서 이룬 것
- 1단계 : May your will be done.(기원문)
- 2단계 : Your will be done.
- will : n. 의지, 뜻

Give us today our daily bread.
오늘날 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주옵시고,

Forgive us our debts,
우리의 죄를 용서하여 주옵시고,
- debt = sin

as we also have forgiven our debtors,
우리가 우리의 죄인들을 용서했던 것처럼

and lead us not into temptation,
우리를 유혹으로 이끌지 마시옵고

but deliver us from the evil one.
악에서 우리를 구하옵소서
- deliver 사람 from 무엇 : 무엇으로 부터 누구를 구하다
- the evil one : 악

For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
대개 나라와 권세와 영광이 아버지께 있습니다.
- 왜냐하면 나라, 권력, 영광이 당신의 것이므로
- for + 주어 + 동사 : 왜냐하면 ~ 이므로
